Alex Chen had seventeen seconds to extract the drive before the building went dark. Seventeen seconds, three guards, and one bad feeling about the whole op.

"Chimera, you're clear on thermal," Vasquez said in her ear. "Move."

She moved. The drive slid out. Fourteen seconds left. Then the lights died anyway—three seconds early. And the screaming started.
